By revisiting his roots and making a Star Wars that was not only true to its original spirit but also brought modernity into the mix, he has finally garnered much-needed acclaim from critics long since tired of his incessant tinkering with a world that was never meant to be tampered with.
And The Dark Horse Comics’ Star Wars: Republic #71 has the closest explanation for Anakin’s scar, after George Lucas’ explanation was rejected. Lucas originally said that the scar was due to a Jedi fight with Count Dooku.
However, this answer is not plausible because Count Dooku never fought with Anakin.
Fight with Ventress on Coruscant
The Expanded Universe is a collection of a variety of Star Wars books, comics, and video games that take place in the time period before and after the events of the movie series.
In these stories, Anakin Skywalker receives a scar over his right eye during a fight with Asajj Ventress. This particular fight can be seen in the cartoon series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Throughout the time of the Clone Wars, many battles were fought. One of these was on Coruscant. Jedi Master Quinlan Vos had gone to Coruscant to find out more about Count Dooku’s new apprentice, Asajj Ventress.
What he found there was a vicious fight with Ventress. There are many different images of this particular fight in the original Star Wars TV series from 2003-2005. Anakin is out of the Jedi Temple to view a message from his wife Padme when Ventress comes across him and attacks full force.
However, Anakin is able to escape with only minor cuts and bruises. This leaves Ventress unable to get to him and instead goes for a Jedi she can find — Obi-Wan Kenobi. Perhaps all we know is that it occurred in one of the battles during the Clone Wars.
But it is still likely the result of a lightsaber wound similar to the EU reason. Ventress had been an ally of Dooku and her former master, Count Magna Tolvan, before betraying them both.
Leading troops into battle on Coruscant, she was wounded by Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi wielding their lightsabers.
