What Will Zootopia 2 Be About?
The working title for the sequel is Zootopia 2: Again. In Again, the main character Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) will be back as the lead alongside Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman).
The movie will take place in a different city from the first one and will focus on Judy’s new job as a detective.
Some of the other returning characters include Flash (Raymond S. Persi), Clawhauser (Nate Torrence), Mayor Lionheart (J.K. Simmons), and Bellwether ( Jenny Slate).
Newcomers to the cast include Esmerelda Villagrana as Officer Hops, Benjamin Clawhauser’s love interest, and Janelle Monae as an alligator singer named Yolanda who is also a friend of Judy’s.
While plot details are still being kept under wraps, we do know that Zootopia 2 will explore themes of prejudice and discrimination, just like its predecessor.
It was also recently revealed that Alan Tudyk will be playing a new character in the film, though his role has not yet been announced. We can’t wait to see what happens in Zootopia 2: Again!
What was the Scrapped Plot of Zootopia?
When Zootopia was first pitched by directors Byron Howard and Rich Moore, the movie was set to be a much different story than what eventually made it to the big screen.
The original plot for the film was actually a buddy cop story, with a con artist fox teaming up with a rookie rabbit police officer to solve a mystery in the animal city.
While that basic premise remains in the final film, many details were changed during development.
For example, in early versions of the script, Judy Hopps was not originally going to be a bunny. She was actually an otter who dreamed of becoming a police officer, but her family didn’t think that was possible because she was just too small.
This is why Judy is so determined to prove herself throughout the movie; she’s trying to show not only that bunnies can be cops, but that anyone can achieve their dreams if they set their mind to it.
The scrapped plot also featured a love interest for Judy Hopps: Gideon Grey. Gideon was supposed to be a fox who bullied Judy when they were kids (which is why she’s so afraid of foxes at the beginning of the movie).
Even though he’s grown up to be handsome and successful, Judy still doesn’t trust him.
But as they work together on the case, she starts to see another side of him and eventually falls in love. Ultimately, directors, Howard and Moore decided that making Gideon Grey into a love interest would make Judy seem weak and take away from her journey as a character.
They also thought that having two main characters who are both animals of prey would create too much tension for children watching the movie.
So instead, they made Gideon into an antagonistic figure whose actions help push Judy toward her eventual partner Nick Wilde (a sly fox).
Do you think Zootopia would have been better or worse if they had stuck with the original plot? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Who are the 2 Main Characters in Zootopia?
Zootopia is a 2016 American 3D computer-animated comedy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures.
The film is directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore, co-directed by Jared Bush, and stars the voices of Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Idris Elba, Jenny Slate, Nate Torrence, Bonnie Hunt, Don Lake, Tommy Chong, J.K. Simmons, Octavia Spencer, Alan Tudyk, and Shakira.
It details the unlikely partnership between a rabbit police officer and a red fox con artist as they uncover a conspiracy that involves fourteen missing animals.
The two main characters in Zootopia are Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin), a bunny who has just become the first-ever rabbit police officer in the city of Zootopia; and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman), a fox who Judy teams up with to solve a missing persons case involving 14 different animal species.
Are Judy And Nick Together in Zootopia?
There are a lot of fan theories out there about the relationship between Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde in Disney’s Zootopia.
Some fans believe that the two are secretly in love with each other, while others think that they’re just good friends. So, what’s the truth?
Are Judy and Nick together in Zootopia? The answer is unfortunately unknown. Disney has never confirmed or denied any of the fan theories surrounding Judy and Nick’s relationship.
This means that we can only speculate about their true feelings for each other. However, there are some clues that suggest that Judy and Nick might be more than friends.
For example, at the end of the movie, when Judy is saying goodbye to Nick, she seems reluctant to let him go.
Additionally, throughout the film, Nick often refers to Judy as “cute” or “adorable,” which could be indicative of his hidden feelings for her. Of course, it’s also possible that Judy and Nick are simply platonic friends who have a strong bond due to their shared experiences in Zootopia.
Whatever the case may be, we may never know for sure whether or not these two characters are meant to be together.

This is a huge blow to fans of the first movie, which was a critical and commercial success.
